It never fails to amaze me when I think back to the early days of Clogau, 30 years ago. I was a young boy back then but I can remember my father being hugely excited about a gold mine he had discovered in the Snowdonia mountains.
The Clogau St. David’s gold mine was once the largest and richest mine of all the gold mines in the Dolgellau gold mining area.
It is situated in Bontddu, near Barmouth in Gwynedd north-west Wales.
