Black Panther Figurine

Beneath Wakanda lies the only source of the extraordinary substance Vibranium, an irresistible lure to all who seek it. In Ghim Ong’s dramatic sculpture of the Black Panther, the protector of Wakanda steps out of deep jungle shadow, ready to face those intending to plunder his homeland of this valuable resource.

The level of detail achieved is extraordinary, with the highly tactile weave almost diverting attention from the seam detailing and ceremonial necklace of T’Challa’s suit. A thick tangle of gnarled roots, exquisitely modelled in black bonded porcelain, enhances the pewter sculpture’s glimmering finish.

A History of T’Challa & The Black Panther

T’challa, son of T’Chaka, the Wakandan King, and protector ‘Black Panther’.

Following the abrupt death of his father, during a world nations meeting regarding the involvement of the ‘Avengers’ with world affairs, T’challa becomes obsessed with avenging his father, with focuses set on finding and obtaining James ‘Bucky’ Barnes, T’Challa is first introduced in Captain America: Civil War.

Whilst T’Challa realises that Bucky is not the man that murdered his father, but rather Helmut Zemo, a father who had lost his wife and family during Ultrons attack on Sokovia.

T’Challa, having respect and nobility, spares the life of Zemo, taking him as prisoner to Wakanda, where he is set to spend the rest of his days, paying for his mistakes, however we learn in the lastest Disney+ series ‘Falcon & The Winter Soldier, that Zemo is broken free from Prison by Sam & Bucky years later.

T’Challa’s leadership has also been challenged when Erik Killmonger appeared to Wakanda, having killed Klaue and challenged T’Challa to their throne, T’Challa had gained help from M’baku and his family, and helped return to the throne, and opened up Wakanda to the rest of the world, in attempt to clear secrets and share their wealth.

He later joins the Avengers, as Wakanda is the home to the battle during Avengers: Infinity War, however when Thanos snapped his fingers, unfortunately T’Challa had blipped with fellow avengers, Peter Parker, Dr. Strange, Bucky Barnes, Groot and Sam Wilson, he does not return until 5 Years later, when earths remaining heroes are snapped back into existence by Hulk, and Thanos defeated by Ironman.
