Star Wars have announced that the new Star Wars: Visions will be a “unique blend of galactic lore and visual storytelling”! The new series is bringing a completely new and extraordinary take on a TV series. The Disney+ series has invited seven Japanese anime studios to explore their own idea of Star Wars and the result is a new galaxy of storytelling. 
Let’s dive into what the new series has to offer and what we can expect in the aftermath of Star Wars Visions! 
What is star wars visions about 
Star Wars visions will be an anthology series of short films shot through the lens of game changing anime creators. The storylines will follow a collection of heroes on their journeys to becoming the true heroes they were always meant to be. The protagonists of the new series must come face to face with and defeat disciples of the dark side and sith villains. 
The series has brought in 5 new fearsome villains who will be brought to life alongside 5 brand new heroes who are set to take the galaxy by storm with new weapons and never-seen-before lightsabers. 
STAR WARS VISIONS RELEASE DATE 
The new Star Wars feature series debuted on September 22nd 2021 and is available to watch on the  Disney+ streaming platform, the new home of the Star Wars galaxy. 
The exciting next generation of Star Wars storytelling includes new expressions of lightsabers and weapons inspired by the world leading minds of anime. Set to bring a new cultural perspective to Star Wars. 
Who is the villain in Star wars visions?
Star Wars Visions is a collection of unique short films, so the villain changes in each episode. Throughout the series, we follow the stories of heroes and villains as they set out to become the heroes they were always destined to be. 
The villains throughout the series include: 
  • The Elder 
  • Am
  • Masago
  • Sith Bandit Leader
  • The Inquisitor 
The new fearsome villains are set to bring new and improved weaponry and master skills that will challenge the protagonists. 
IS DARTH VADER IN STAR WARS VISIONS
Most notably, Darth Vader doesn’t feature in the new instalment of the galaxy, however the references made to the iconic Sith Lord throughout the series. 
In episode 3, The Twins, we meet Am; a child of the dark side consumed with a desire for power and runs head first into danger. In this episode, Am is an ambitious master of the dark side of the Force. To truly bring this character to life, character designer Shigeto Koyama brought in elements of Darth Vader’s life-supporting suit which gives our antagonist unique saber-wielding powers. 
What is the best episode of star wars visions
Each short film is so varied in the new series, it’s hard to come to a final decision on which episode is the best. Each episode takes on a unique and diverse interpretation of the Star Wars galaxy so favourites are divided across 9 episodes. 
Two of the most popular episodes include, episode 1, The Duel and episode 5, The Ninth Jedi. 
Episode 1, The Duel features outstanding blending of feudal Japan and Star Wars tech for a gorgeous anthology sensation. The duel between the protagonist and antagonist is one of the best in the galaxy and the fusing of anime and Star Wars storytelling is one of the best of the entire series. 
Episode 5, The Ninth Jedi, captured many viewers’ hearts as the best episode of the entire series. It has been rumoured that people wish this storyline was the one that kicked off post-original trilogy. And people are longing for a full series based on this storyline! 
However, winning all the points for gorgeous animation, is episode 8, Lop and Ocho. The story follows two sisters as they duel over the fate of their home.

WILL THERE BE A SEASON 2 OF STAR WARS VISIONS?
There is no talk of a season 2 of Star Wars: Visions at the moment, fans are eagerly awaiting any news regarding a sequel or follow up of the first ever Star Wars anthology series.
