The Clogau brand was first brought to life when a local Welshman named William Roberts made an exciting discovery in the rural mountains of Snowdonia. Roberts was able to extract a stockpile of rare Welsh gold that was then used exclusively to create the jewellery that founded the Clogau brand. Since then, Clogau jewellery has become renowned around the world not just for their striking designs but for being worn by members of the Royal family including Her Majesty the Queen and the late Princess Diana of Wales.
All our Clogau jewellery is delivered in elegant Clogau packaging.

These lovely earrings are a great gift for any woman. The Clogau Cariad Heart Drop Earrings are beautifully crafted from quality silver and have a timeless design with rose gold accents. Unlike stud earrings, these dangle graciously from the bottom of the ear. A heart symbolises the indescribable emotion that comes when you experience true romance and affection. These will most certainly add a subtle glow to any outfit that you choose to wear.
The beauty of these earrings is that you can choose to wear them to a formal occasion such as; a meal, a party or an important event, or you can wear these as part of everyday wear. Why not match these with the matching necklace, or the same design as stud earrings is an option if you prefer a more subtle look. As a gift, this would be an exceptional birthday or anniversary gift for your significant other. You could even purchase these as a Valentine’s day gift for someone you love, since the heart is the ultimate symbol of true love and affection.
For over 150 years the Clogau St David’s gold mine went through mixed fortunes with gold veins being most inconsistent and difficult to locate. The mine was developed for gold production in the 1862 rush and continued as an important operator until 1911. A total of 165,031 tons of Gold ore was mined equating to 78,507 ounces. However, by the late 1990’s the last train carrying Welsh gold from the Clogau mine clanked to a halt resulting in the mine being taken over and held by local exploration company.
