The Clogau brand was first brought to life when a local Welshman named William Roberts made an exciting discovery in the rural mountains of Snowdonia. Roberts was able to extract a stockpile of rare Welsh gold that was then used exclusively to create the jewellery that founded the Clogau brand. Since then, Clogau jewellery has become renowned around the world not just for their striking designs but for being worn by members of the Royal family including Her Majesty the Queen and the late Princess Diana of Wales.
All our Clogau jewellery is delivered in elegant Clogau packaging.

This Clogau silver locket includes beautiful detailed patterns engraved and inspired by the iconic Kensington palace gates. The shape of the pendant is a heart with unique and intricate detailing set in sterling silver and Clogau rose gold. In the centre of the locket there is a lock, hidden inside the actual locket is a sterling silver key so that you can cherish important things and keep them safe. Kensington palace is a royal residence set in the Kengsinton Gardens. It has been residence of the British royal family since the 17th century and is currently the the official London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
This silver locket would make the ideal gift for a person who is sentimental. With this particular locket, you cannot put photos on display inside. Alternatively, you could put charms on the inside or anything that is small enough to fit with sentimental value. A Locket typically symbolises love, whether that be a platonic love or a romantic one, however the heart shaped lockets are usually romantic, so this would be more appropriate for a girlfriend or wife. If you would prefer a locket that can display photos inside, our Clogau Cariad Locket might be a better choice for you. You could match this necklace with the Clogau Kensington stud earrings and the extraordinary Clogau Kensington Ring. Considering that the detailing and meaning behind this design is very traditional, this would probably be suited to an adult more than a child.
Clogau is valued as the world’s rarest and most sought- after gold. For almost 2000 years it has been prized for its originality and unique designing. Within every Clogau item there is a guaranteed measured amount of Welsh gold. At this present day, Clogau is one of the most sacred and rare golds in the world, so only a fraction of it is included in each piece of jewellery, since the mines are no longer accessible in Wales, Clogau gold has to be used in smaller amounts so that it doesn’t run out so quickly. Welsh gold can actually be valued up to 30 times more than standard world gold. The smallest nugget of this gold weighed around 3g and valued at £10,500.
